There is nothing like the bounty of a summer harvest to celebrate the season and when you couple the harvest of a much-loved, well-tended organic garden with the culinary passion of a celebrated chef, you are truly in for a treat! Join Dame Jeanne Nolan, President of The Organic Gardener and owner of Middlefork Farm and Dame Sarah Stegner of Prairie Grass Cafe, for a virtual tour of Jeanne's garden and a live cooking demonstration from Sarah's kitchen. Dame Jeanne will give us insights into organic gardening as well as discuss how COVID-19 has affected her organic gardening business. Following the tour, Dame Sarah will prepare a fabulous dinner with fresh-from-the-garden vegetables from Middlefork Farm. Topping off the class, Dame Portia Belloc Lowndes will give a mixology lesson, making a seasonal cocktail using Mezcal from Jeanne's father's company, La Luna!
Attendance is free, with a suggested donation to Green City Market's Edible Garden (see details below). You can use your own fish and produce but if you want to truly savor the experience, a Harvest Dinner Kit for Two can be purchased from Prairie Grass Cafe to prepare your own feast!

Dame Sarah Stegner and Dame Jeanne Nolan are founding members of Green City Market and The Edible Gardens. The Edible Gardens are educational gardens located in the Farm-at-the-Zoo at Lincoln Park Zoo. The purpose of the gardens is to provide hands-on edible education for the public in the form of workshops, tours, and classes. Due to COVID-19 Dame Jeanne Nolan and her team at The Organic Gardener have turned The Edible Gardens into a donation garden where all of the organic produce grown will go to Lakeview pantry and partner pantries.
